“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine…” Acts 2:42
Grace and Peace to all MWDDC Delegates!
I am rejoicing with each of you as we look forward to a high time in the Lord throughout this Council session. Welcome to what promises to be a Jesus Christ-centered fellowship as many of you coming far and near will experience the outpouring of praising God, “having favor with all the people, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, the Word of God preached, and all that believed were together and had all things common.” These words come from the continuance in the Apostles’ doctrine.
I am reading the history of the great outpouring at 312 Azusa Street, Los Angeles, California. The years were 1906 thru 1909, when many were filled with the Holy Ghost, many who came from all over the country and world attending a building which was once contracted to hold storage. The people responsible in securing occupancy probably had no idea what was about to take place as thousands came to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. The origin of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. began on Azusa Street and continues today. It does not matter who or what tried to impede the Apostles’ doctrine for we were promised that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church. “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine...”
We anticipate a mighty move of God. We are blessed that you have come. We believe that this Council session will be a blessing to each of us. We also are thankful and blessed to have our Presiding Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., the Honorable Bishop Theodore L. Brooks and First Lady L. Janice Brooks with us. May God bless them highly and wonderfully! We welcome Bishop Ira Combs, Jr., the Diocesan of the Northern District Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. and Pastor Jarrett Perdue, our previous International Pentecostal Young People’s Union President. My, I can feel excitement! Come on Jesus, we glorify You, the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
Welcome everyone!
Let us continue steadfastly,
Bishop Richard D. Howell, Jr.
Diocesan of the Minnesota, Wisconsin, Dakotas District Council
